The bi-annual SAFRA Photo Convention is here again! The highlight of the convention is chance to dive with renowned photographer from the Philippines.
Tuason will share his underwater photography experience with participants at the half day workshop. If that is not enough and needs some hands-on, join the guest speaker in a dive at the Sentosa Underwater World.

This year, we have the privilege of inviting underwater photographer Scott Tuason from the Philippines to share with us his underwater photography experience. Scott has been diving for 27 years and taking underwater pictures for 20 years. Some of his favorite sites include Anilao, Batangas for macro photography and the Sulu Sea for wide-angle shots. He contributes regularly to Asian Diver, Sport Diving Australia, Scuba Globe Asia Pacific and Action Asia, including their “Adventure guide to the Philippines”. Scott has 3 coffee table books. One entitled “The Philippine Coral Reefs in Watercolor” was done together with painter, Rafael Cusi. The other, a large format picture book on the marine animals of Anilao, was co-authored with Eduardo Cu Unjieng. The Anilao book won an award for photography at the 19th Philippine National book awards and the World Grand Prize for underwater image books at the 27th World Festival of Underwater Images in Antibes, France in the year 2000. Scott’s 3rd book entitled “The Ultimate Orient Philippine South Sea Pearls” was published in March 2002; it is the story of the pearl told in pictures. Click here to read more about Scott Tuason.

Seminar

Participants shared underwater experiences of our guest speaker Scott Tuason, together with his comprehensive techniques on taking underwater pictures. This seminar caters for the DSLR user as well as point-and-shoot cameras. Scott will also be sharing post-production techniques, as colour management for underwater shots is imperative. In addition, there were invited speakers from Nikon and Epson to share their latest product developments.

Workshop

Feel like taking pictures with sharks and giant groupers as your subjects? We have created a unique workshop at Underwater World Sentosa, where participants will have 2 rounds of shooting and review with our guest photographer Scott Tuason. There are only 2 workshops and each can have a maximum of 8 participants.
Programme for Workshop:
1345 Arrival of participants at Sentosa Underwater World 1400 Briefing on workshop. Lecture on equipment, diving skills and underwater photography. 1445 Gear up for pool entry 1500 Underwater Shoot Round 1 1600 Exit pool. Download photos and go through with speaker. 1700 Underwater Shoot Round 2 1800 Exit pool. Download photos and go through with speaker. 1900 End of workshop 1930 Transportation out of Sentosa to Vivocity.
Workshop participants will have to wear all diving gear, including bcd and regulator provided by Sentosa Underwater World. Participants will have to provide all their underwater photographic equipment.
Epson will be conducting a printing workshop at Epson Solution Centre at Wheelock Place for all Underwater Photography Workshop participants. Participants will be taught how to print their own pictures using the Epson printer. They will be entitled to print 2 A3 size pictures of their favourite underwater shots. The printing workshop will be conducted on the following weekend at Epson Solution Centre.
